Professional Experience

 

 

 

Since 2004 :

Research Fellow and Chief Development Officer of Bruegel, a Brussels-based think tank.

 

Since 2002 :

Founding partner of ECIF, an independent consultancy dedicated to financial information issues.

 

2000 - 2002 :

MultiMania, later renamed Lycos France (publicly-listed Internet Portal, Paris, 180 employees): VP Business Development (February 2000), later Chief Financial Officer (October 2000).

 

1997 - 2000 :

Senior Adviser for Corporate Matters to Martine Aubry, Minister of Labor and Deputy Prime Minister of France.

 

1995 - 1997 :

Adviser for Economic Matters to the Préfet (central government’s delegate) of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region in Lille (north of France).

 

1993 - 94 :

Rothschilds (Investment bank, Paris), member of the Mergers & Acquisitions team.

 

1992 - 93 :

Deutsche Glashandelsgesellschaft (a glass-processing subsidiary of the Saint-Gobain Group in Berlin and Potsdam, Germany), executive assistant to the CEO.

 

 

  

Training

 

1992-95 :

Training as an Ingénieur des Mines (Master of Public Administration, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris), including two years’ industry experience (see above) and a thesis on utilities in Central Europe.

 

1989-92 :

Ecole Polytechnique (Master of Science) in Palaiseau, France. Military Service as an officer cadet in the Armour (1989-90). Concentrations (majeures) in Physics and Biology; 3-Month internship in Ricardo Bofill’s architecture firm in Barcelona, Spain (1992). Valedictorian for the class of 1992.

 

Additional training:

-     Study fellowship at the German Academy of Public Service (Bonn / Berlin, September 1996).

-     BA in Art History, Paris IV / Sorbonne University, 1994.
