Last Monday and Tuesday, Bruegel held its customary Annual Meeting in Brussels with a special flavor, as it also celebrated its ten years of operations since publishing its first paper in September 2005. On this occasion it published a series of short texts on Bruegel's early development, by Mario Monti, Leszek Balcerowicz, Jean-Claude Trichet, Jean Pisani-Ferry, Guntram Wolff, and me. The one by Pisani-Ferry, in particular, gives the most detailed account yet of the improbable circumstances of Bruegel's creation in 2002-05.
