The Peterson Institute yesterday published a Working Paper I co-authored with Adam Posen, in which we develop a vision for financial reform in developing Asia which specifically takes lessons from the financial crises that have affected the US and Europe in the last few years. We formulate an agenda of financial deepening and diversification that promotes both growth and stability, while avoiding the pitfalls of unchecked liberalization.
