The 27 will be able to accelerate Article 50 if UK is told credibly that only in that case there is appetite for a "good leaver deal". If they drag it out, the 27 will simply say "no" on all fronts and after two years there is a cold break. If the UK has more to lose from that than the 27, that should work.
