This week Bruegel published this working paper I co-authored with Julia Anderson and Francesco Papadia, in which we describe and analyze national programs of credit support, mainly via loan guarantees, in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. This paper presents in much more depth the research that underlies our blog posts on the same theme, in July and September last year.
